Tasty and affordable, with a very friendly staff member who took our orders. I got the teriyaki burger, which I thought was good, and the fries were on point. I tried some of the Korean chicken and I really liked that as well. There was a dude trying to give away kittens outside the building, hope they go to a good home, but I feel it is the wrong place to do that at.
Breakfast platter and breakfast omelet were good! $21 for both meals. If you're looking for a quick breakfast at reasonable prices, this is your place! Friendly service!
We ordered takeout to bring home and eat in the garden, enjoying the chirps of the coqui frogs as the sun set. We had the Kailua pork plate, which was really yummy, and the Korean chicken, which was a classic Asian style chicken takeout dish - really satisfying.
We were on our way back to our place of stay after visiting the Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park. It was late evening. Kurtistown Cafe was our dinner stop. They serve Burgers, Sandwiches, Plates …. We ordered plate of Chicken, Fish , Eggs along with Rice. The Chicken and Eggs were well made. Fish could have been better. Value for Money cafe
Driving towards Hilo and we stopped in Kurtistown to get gas. I noticed this joint while we were here and it looked great so we decided to stop in. Came in at around 9:30 AM on a Saturday and they weren’t busy. The guy who took our order was nice. I got the French Toast breakfast with Portuguese sausage and two eggs with an additional side of bacon. Overall, everything was great! The French toast was toasted perfectly and flavorful, the sausage was really good and the eggs were cooked nicely. It was also quite inexpensive too! Only $10.49 for my meal! Honestly the cheapest meal we had on the Big Island! Overall, this was a great stop! If you’re driving towards Hilo and in the market for something cheap and fast, Kurtistown Cafe is the place to go! I will easily come back.
Went to stop by here on the way home to Hilo after a long day and it was fantastic! The food was so tasty and delicious. I got the Korean chicken and my partner got the Korean combo plate. Both were delicious and the macaroni salad that came with it hit the spot. 10/10 food I am for sure going back. The atmosphere is a bit lackluster just because you are on the side of the road at a gas station but other than that AMAZING!
